ÉEQ's mission and values
Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ) is a private non-profit organization that represents the companies that place containers, packaging and printed matter on the market in Québec in their responsibility to finance the costs of effective and efficient municipal curbside recycling services.
As an expert, ÉEQ optimizes the curbside recycling value chain and implements innovative approaches with a view to sustainable development and circular economy.
- Represent targeted companies with regard to their responsibility to finance their share of the net costs of efficient and effective municipal curbside recycling services with a view to supporting sustainable development
- Establish an equitable fee structure to ensure program financing
- In partnership with municipalities and RECYC-QUÉBEC, promote efforts to increase quantities of recovered materials through curbside recycling at the lowest possible cost
ÉEQ carries out its mission in accordance with the following principles:
ÉEQ led Québec’s recycling industry to become the most effective in North America from the economic, environmental and social perspectives with a view to circular economy.
ÉEQ’s board of directors is made up of 10 member administrators and 4 non-member administrators appointed based on their skills profiles and experience relating to the value chain of container, packaging and printed matter recycling in Quebec.
A dedicated team
ÉEQ is constantly evolving and has assembled a solid and dynamic team to meet the needs of companies and stakeholders in the curbside recycling industry.
The association committee brings together some 15 professional and sectoral organizations to discuss orientations and issues relating to the compensation plan, ÉEQ’s initiatives and programs and the specific concerns expressed in each activity sector.
