Éco Entreprises Québec took part in the Rendez-vous de l’économie circulaire (Montréal Circular Economy Rendez-vous) on November 21. Organized by Synergie Montréal as part of the Montréal Circular Economy Week, powered by PME MTL, the event brought together experts, businesses, and institutional partners committed to advancing a more efficient, responsible, and circular model.
Among the activities on the program, ÉEQ led a discussion panel:
“Ecodesign and Packaging Recyclability and EPR – Curbside Recycling: Legal Obligations for Businesses”
This session will explore opportunities to improve packaging design, key issues affecting recyclability, and the responsibilities of obligated businesses under the modernized curbside recycling system.
Two representatives from Éco Entreprises Québec were among the discussion:
- Mario Patenaude, Lead, Ecodesign and Recyclability, who presented best practices in ecodesign and the factors influencing packaging recyclability;
- Dominique Bruneau-Colette, Senior Advisor, Producer Services, who highlighted the legal obligations of businesses under Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) – Curbside Recycling.
Both speakers also present the Starter Kit, a resource developed to support producers in implementing their regulatory responsibilities and adopting improved packaging practices.
ÉEQ’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting the transition toward a coherent and sustainable circular economy by contributing to conversations that shape the evolution of the curbside recycling system.
