Éco Entreprises Québec Launches a Call for Proposals
Montreal, October 30, 2024 – Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ) launches a call for proposals for the design, construction and operation of a new sorting centre serving the Eastern Townships region.
The opening of this new infrastructure is scheduled for January 2028. It will have to meet the region’s needs and put into practice the best industry standards to ensure the continuous quality of the sorting of recovered materials.
The expected opening of a new sorting centre in the Eastern Townships will meet the challenges posed by the necessary expansion of sorting capacity to support Éco Entreprises Québec’s initiative. It will also contribute to the achievement of the ambitious objectives that Quebec has set for itself.
To ensure the continuity of the sorting of recovered materials until the opening of this future sorting centre, Éco Entreprises Québec will soon sign contractual agreements with sorting centres in the region. Announcements will be made soon on this subject.
“Quebec is about to undergo a major change in connection with the modernization of curbside recycling. As the prime contractor, Éco Entreprises Québec is working hard to make our curbside recycling system more efficient, and the construction of this new sorting centre will be a key step for the Eastern Townships region. We look forward to receiving proposals from bidding companies who wish to join forces with us to promote the circular economy.”
— Maryse Vermette, President and CEO of Éco Entreprises Québec
