$202,380 paid to 7 municipal organizations as part of Éco Entreprises Québec’s Away-from-Home Recovery Program!
Montréal, April 22, 2015 – Maryse Vermette, President and CEO of Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ), is pleased to announce that, for the first quarter of 2015, the organization granted a total of $202,380 for seven proposals to install materials recovery equipment in municipal public places as part of ÉEQ’s Away-from-Home Recovery Program. Thanks to those funds, projects worth a total of $414,300 will be implemented.
The following installations were carried out with the Program’s financial assistance:

Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie Borough: 153 pieces of equipment in 10 parks and along 6 streets

Prévost: 43 pieces of equipment in 18 parks and 3 public buildings

Conseil intermunicipal de transport de la Vallée-du-Richelieu (CITVR): 68 pieces of equipment next to 68 bus shelters in 8 towns and municipalities

Rivière-à-Pierre: 1 piece of equipment in the community hall

Papineauville: 14 pieces of equipment on a soccer field and in 3 public buildings

Montmagny RMC: 5 pieces of equipment on 3 public places and in one public building

Baie-Saint-Paul: 7 pieces of equipment in 2 public rest areas and 4 public buildings
To date, the Away-from-Home Recovery Program has paid over $4,800,000 to Quebec municipalities to install more than 10,000 pieces of recovery equipment in public places!
“Our mission is to give Quebecers the opportunity to recover materials in municipal public places. We are pleased to contribute to such new projects in order to increase recyclable material recovery rates and help meet the objectives set in Quebec’s 2011-2015 Residual Materials Management Policy”, said Ms. Vermette.
ÉEQ’s Away-from-Home Recovery Program benefits from an $8 million budget, which is financed in equal parts by voluntary contributions from ÉEQ as well as by the Ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques via the Fonds vert.
Éco Entreprises Québec is a private non-profit organization that represents companies who contribute to the compensation plan for municipal curbside recycling services.
