Wishing to jointly identify possible solutions to curbside recycling challenges, Eco Entreprises Québec organized a Forum on January 28, 2015, that brought together some 200 key curbside recycling players to share their knowledge and experience. Representatives from municipal and government agencies, contributing companies to the compensation plan, sorting center operators, conditioners and recyclers, took part in this not-to-be missed event. The day was spent reflecting on the issues in 3 ways: getting informed, inspiring each other and contributing.

Lending his support to optimization efforts, Martin Coiteux, Quebec’s Minister responsible for Government administration and Ongoing Program Review as well as President of the Treasury Board, commended the curbside recycling industry for rallying to the issue. He made his comments at the Forum’s closing cocktail reception held in cooperation with the Conseil des entreprises en technologies environnementales du Québec (Council of Businesses in Environmental Technologies of Quebec) and McCarthy Tétrault.

ÉEQ presented optimization strategies defined in cooperation with KPMG-SECOR and the day’s findings to the Commission des transports et de l’environnement the day after the Forum as part of the government’s work on the 2015-2020 Sustainable Development Strategy.

Thanks to all 200 participants! Links to presentations, video capsules, the day’s photo gallery and the submission presented to the Commission are on this page. You asked to pursue discussions, and ÉEQ is already working on making that happen.
