A united industry to create the circular economy for plastics in Canada

In collaboration with the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA), five major companies from the food, beverage and packaging industry in Quebec are joining forces and creating the Circular Plastics Taskforce or Groupe d’action plastiques circulaires (GAPC). The initiative, supported by Environment and Climate Change Canada and in which Éco Entreprises Québec will act as a consultant and financial partner, aims to find concrete solutions to deal with plastics recycling issues in Quebec and Canada.

Éco Entreprises Québec salutes the leadership of these five companies – Cascades, Danone Canada, Dyne-a-pak, Keurig Dr Pepper Canada, TC Transcontinental and the CPIA – who are showing their willingness to work with the entire recyclables industry towards recycling plastics from collection bins as locally as possible.

They are also teaming up with the Centre de transfert technologique en écologie industrielle (CTTEI) in Sorel-Tracy as well as with Charmard Stratégies environnementales to work on developing new markets for the materials.
