Support for municipalities to provide recyclable materials collection services in public spaces
New call for projects under the Away-From-Home Recovery program
A total amount of $600,000 is now available to municipal organizations seeking to install recyclable materials recovery equipment in their public spaces. The funding will cover 70% of the purchase price, up to $1,000 per unit. Each municipality is eligible to receive a maximum of $150,000.
The announcement was made by Éco Entreprises Québec and RECYC-QUÉBEC as part of the launch of a new call for projects under the Away-From-Home Recovery program.
Since 2008, the program has led to:
- 19 000 new recovery units
- nearly $10M in funding
- 6 075 tonnes recovered annually
- 2 430 tonnes of avoided CO2 emissions
Projects must include a minimum of 25 units to be installed before the end of 2019. The application deadline is July 5, 2019.
